Allergy Elimination has become one of the hottest, most intriguing, most fulfilling, most successful treatments for chronic health problems to come along in a long while! We have provided this at Wellness First since we opened in Denver in 1993, but in the last few years it has blossomed and its uses have been tested and proven on many thousands of patients across the country.

The best known allergy elimination techniques are NAET & BioSET. Both are offered at Wellness First.

At Wellness First, the Allergy Elimination Department is headed by Dr. Jeana Thomas DC.

Dr. Jeana Thomas' Experience with Allergy Elimination

" I trained with Dr. Devi Nambudripad in southern California in 1991 and returned to work with great skepticism. To prove I was right and Dr. Devi was wrong, I chose two clients with histories of chronic, severe sinusitis of over 20 years duration. They both required antibiotics 6 to 12 times per year, and they were both miserable. I told each one that I had learned an allergy elimination technique but that I was sure it would not work. I believe this effectively eliminated the placebo effect, since now none of us believed it would work. I proposed to treat them with NAET anyway (for free) just to prove to myself that it wouldn't work.

To my great surprise, within a few months both were breathing well and had had no sinusitis and no need for antibiotics. They were able to eat foods that had formerly made them worse. They were able to be around animals that had before triggered symptoms. Follow up interviews over the next two years found them with no recurrences of sinus problems of any kind and no need for antibiotics. I was amazed! It had really worked!

Ellen Cutler took the NAET trainings in 1991, but she went back to her office in northern California and made it her life's work. When her books started coming out in 1998, the practice of allergy elimination changed completely. They put it on the map, so to speak. Her published books are:

GREATER PATIENT ACCEPTANCE

Late in 1999, Dr. Cutler introduced a new procedure to her advanced doctors that effectively eliminates the need to avoid the treated substance for 25 hours! We've been doing this since that time, and it works just as well, and even better, than the older procedure had. And people love it--they don't have to go on severely restricted diets or wear face masks and gloves for 25 hours after the treatments. This also opens up the possibility of treating more substances in a given session--not always workable, but sometimes necessary.

How Is Allergy Elimination Done?

Because Allergy Elimination as a field is riding a wave of success, expansion, innovation and exploration right now, it is in a constant state of slight changes. It's getting more effective, quicker and more exciting all the time. And since we've grown beyond the need for the 25 hour restrictions that you may have heard about, it is easier than ever for the patient to be cleared of their allergens. We've also noticed that more allergens clear in one visit than they used to, decreasing the number of total treatments needed.

The treatment with BioSET of what we call Level 1 items (internal body parts) seems to really be the most amazing improvement. Since everyone in the world does not react the same way you do to certain substances, it stands to reason that the problem is with you, not the substance you react to. Level 1 treatments help to normalize your own body before we even begin to treat for substances in the world outside of your body.

The allergens are determined by muscle testing--a diagnostic technique that can be very effective and revealing. All allergy diagnostic techniques have less than 100% accuracy (including skin tests, blood tests, and muscle tests). However, when done well, the muscle test is very accurate. The treatment involves having the patient hold the offending allergen, along with specially prepared additional substances, while having acupuncture points stimulated along and beside the spine, either by hand or using a hand-held instrument (not needles). The patient continues to hold the substances for another 10-15 minutes. Then other acupressure points are stimulated by hand or instrument. That's it! When you return for your next visit, we evaluate the success of the previous treatment and then determine what we should treat next. It's that simple.

ASTHMA

"In the fall of 1998 I gave my golden retriever a bath without wearing a surgical mask (my usual custom). I developed a severe asthma reaction to the dander and fur I got from the process. After a couple of weeks of having difficulty breathing principally at night while sleeping, I went to an allergist for testing. The nuts and bolts of the testing lead me to believe that the only way I would exist comfortably was to shoot the dog, sell the house, relocate to a boat on the ocean and stay five miles off shore for the rest of my life. I could live with three out of the four options; but, I am fond of the dog. She is the only one in the house that gets excited when I come in the front door. The allergist said he could give me shots weekly for a year or so with approximately 50% chance of curing the problem."

Accordingly, I began to search options to the allergist's needle and discovered NAET. I brought a sample of the dog's hair to use in the treatment, went out of town directly from the treatment and when I came back to town I did not have any trouble breathing at night. I still get "itchy eyes" if I pet her and put my hands near my eyes without washing my hands first. However, I consider that a minor issue."

I was also highly allergic to cats. I could not be in a room where a cat lives for more than five minutes without a severe reaction. It felt like my windpipe was closed and I would have difficulty breathing during the day or at night for at least a month. Jeana treated me for cats and I went to a Halloween party a friend threw who has two cats. I was there from 5:30 until 11:00 and did not notice any difficulty.
